I feel like I have a ton to say even though I probably really don’t, and the reason I feel like I have a ton to say is probably the fact that I have spent hours and hours going back through the past month of posts to edit in pictures when I had them available (I do not yet have soup pictures available from yesterday, I ended up NEEDING to get some sleep, and then when I woke up I decide blog stuff was more important, so even though it was holiday stuff I’ll be making it today and THEN I’ll edit the pictures into yesterday’s post), and filling out our calendar for the “Things You’ll Need” Page. So. It is finally, as promised but a little later than anticipated, up to date and currently a week out. I will do my damndest to make sure it’s always at least a week out so people can shop ahead or library ahead or plan ahead or whatever y’all may want to do to be able to do things the day we post them so we can have more conversation and/or photo participation around subjects. In the event that I list say a book that you’re not terribly interested in and you can’t find it at your local library or reasonably priced (or free) as an ebook, by all means don’t feel obligated to buy it. If you get ahold of it and read it in time for the post then we can discuss and review and share perspectives, if you don’t, you can decide if you ever care to based on discussion and review and such before you spend money acquiring it. I don’t want anyone going broke because of my blog. As mentioned yesterday, I think, if you see a clump of days that look like they’re focused on a similar theme, that’s all just luck of the draw on how it worked out, I have a weird little arbitrary system that decides these things for me that no one but me would understand or care about.
Anyhow, as for today’s project… I’m sure I’ve mentioned before that these are all based off of things I have either wanted to do or learn or felt like I should do or learn, and this is a want to do, and I hope anyone who might consider being unhappy about it will consider my perspective. I like old pictures, I like family pictures, and I organize things by when in my life they took place. The project that came up for today actually comes before my life, and I hope it’s one you can all enjoy doing yourselves.
That project is to make a photo album of pictures of your family from when your parents met till you were born. You can make that a physical photo album, an online photo album (I made mine in Google’s photos), or both. I vote for both 🙂 I also, am going to vote for making shared online Facebook photo albums where applicable so that any family or family friends who have anything to contribute can add it in or poach pictures they care about, because I personally have pictures of relatives that I have no idea how I got or why and assume there are some floating around of my relatives too. For me I’m leaving family as a broad term to include extended family, but you can narrow it down to immediate family if you prefer.
I’m gonna share a version of my online photo album, cause that’s the whole point of this project is sharing experiences, and y’all are welcome to look or not look as the interest strikes you, and share or not share yours as the interest strikes you. I’m going to leave people unnamed for their own privacy, though if they choose to name themselves that’s fine with me too, and I am gonna list relations cause otherwise it’s just “hey, here’s some people you don’t know.” Which maybe it is anyway, I dunno. I am going to guess years for the sake of “haha, old fashions and trends were weird” nostalgia.
So my before I existed but after my parents met album is here, and I’ll totally check out anyone else’s or accept any contributions or clarifications from family if they have it. Old pictures are fun, even when they’re not your own family. At least I think so.
Today’s List of Tasks:
- Get or give yourself a pedicure.
- Clean your Guest Bedroom.
- Do a plank, side planks on each side, 15 supermans, and T-Stabilizations on each side.
- Listen to a guided meditation and/or subliminal audio to combat allergies.
That’s all for today friends. I hope your walks down memory lane are as pleasant as mine, and I will see you later on Facebook for the Question of the Day!
A word about music: We include songs for a reason. Music helps us deal with the world, helps to soothe the soul, and gives us something else we can focus on when everything is too much. Listen to the songs we post. Even if you already know them. Listen to them like you don’t. Pay attention to the lyrics. Pay attention to what the instruments are telling you. They all have a message, they all have a purpose, they’re all chosen for a reason. If you like the song, please support the artist by purchasing the MP3 or Album that features it.
